A Small New Comfort: MUJI Aroma in the Bedroom
Some upgrades are big — a new appliance, a renovation. This one is small, and that is exactly the point. We have added a MUJI aroma diffuser to the bedroom, so that from now on, the room welcomes you not just with clean sheets and quiet, but with a gentle, natural scent. It is a little ritual of calm at the end of a Tokyo day.
Why MUJI?
If you know Japan, you know MUJI (無印良品, "no-brand quality goods") — the beloved Japanese brand built on simplicity, natural materials and quiet good design. Their interior fragrance line fits our house perfectly: understated amber-glass bottles, blends of essential oils rather than heavy perfume, and scents named for feelings, not fashion — citrus for freshness, herbal for clarity, floral for softness, fresh air for calm. We chose a blend that is light and restful — you will notice it when you walk in, and then it politely gets out of the way.
Made for people who work hard — and travelers who move fast
Many of our guests are not on holiday, or not only on holiday. They are here for a project, a semester, a job, a one-to-two-month stay where every weekday matters. Others are moving at full speed — three cities in ten days, early trains, late flights. For both, what matters at 9pm is the same: a home that restores you.
That has always been our aim in Yushima. The house is fully furnished and fully equipped — washing machine, kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, everything you need to live rather than camp. And the neighborhood works the hours you do: 24/7 convenience stores, supermarkets, drugstores and coin laundries are minutes away, so a late dinner, a forgotten toothbrush or a midnight load of laundry is never a problem. The aroma is simply the finishing touch — the signal, when you open the bedroom door, that the working day is over.
Rest well, do more
Tokyo rewards energy. The earlier you sleep, the more the city gives you the next day — the morning market, the empty museum hall, the first train to the mountains. We think of the aroma the way we think of everything in the house: not luxury for its own sake, but a quiet tool for a better stay. Come home, breathe out, and let Yushima's evening calm do the rest.
“You feel like you're living in Tokyo, not just visiting.” — Tatyana, Portugal (stayed with her son)
